Mr. Obama Please…

Mr. Obama,

I voted for you because you were hope.  I voted for you because you were better than John McCain in the debates.  I voted for you because you were young and had a family.  I hoped that having a family you would want a better country for your daughters.  I thought you had a clear vision, and I thought you could articulate that vision.

When you were elected I felt so good that I was part of electing the first African American President in history, and I was proud to live in a nation that no longer had ceilings, due to race.  Your first few days in office I was proud that you closed Guantanamo Bay,  and it felt good that we may actually be on track.

But then….

But then you lost your way.  You went on the Tonight Show and allowed Jay leno to demean the office of the President of the United States.  Why would you go on the Tonight Show?  This is not a campaign this is crunch time.  When I saw the press release of your Final Four predictions (which were awful), it appeared to me that you think you are living in a Country Club, instead of defeating a recession.  Now, I know that everyone deserves some recreation, but get real.  Why do I care about your March Madness Bracket choices?

Then this AIG thing happened and you stood by while we imposed ceilings on wages for AIG employees;  wages that these people actually had written into their contracts.  If you want to punish AIG – why don’t we start with punishing the folks that gave them our Tax money.  Giving them the money was the problem, not the fact that they used it to pay the employees that they were contractually obligated to pay.  I say no more!

Don’t give any more of our money to anyone, anything, or any entity.  I am tired of it.  If these companies are going to die – then I say, “so be it”.  They were ran poorly or they would still be around.  Why give a poorly ran company more money?  I don’t invest my money in poorly ran companies and common sense says no one else does either.  If you would not invest your personal assets into a business don’t invest our Tax Money into them.

We will recover!  It is the way of things.  New companies are born every day and old companies die everyday.  I would rather have that than this hybrid, socialist, new thing that we are trying to put in place.  It is now obvious to me that you are  systematically trying to change the very nature of our country.

I have been quiet and I have said nothing.  I have even been part of it – I voted for you, but I am done.  All I can say is when the elections come in two years I am voting republican.  Don’t get me wrong – I am fed up with their dogma, almost as much as I am the liberal spending, but I won’t tolerate Socialism.

Mr. Obama – Please forget these weird, Socialistic campaigns and stop acting like you just got four years at a resort called the White House.  Stop visiting with Jay Leno durring primetime, and stop picking your March Madness Bracket durring, what the rest of us call the work day, and begin fixing the crap that is broken.

Invest in New Green Energy.  Fix our roads. Fix our infrastructure.  Those are great ideas.  Those are the ideas that you were elected for.  You were not elected to weaken our defenses with Nuclear Arms reduction and you were not elected to invest Tax Dollars into weakened, beaten down, broken companies like General Motors.  We all need cars to get to work – we don’t have to buy them from GM.  If they go down someone else will invent a better product and the sun will come up tomorrow.

Mr. Obama, please, all I ask is that you do your job!
